Is this a Wolf

My son spotted this wolf-like creature behind our house in a residential area of Kitchener.


I'm not sure, but perhaps one of our readers can tell whether this is a Wolf or a Coyote

A few years ago my family were walking in a paved trail on Kitchener. A coywolf was following us and sizing up our young son. We immediately put our son between us and turned around and walked to our car. The animal reluctantly went into the bush. Once we got to our vehicle, we called park authorities about it.

We have a great vista, overlooking the flood plain of the Grand River. Yesterday saw a pair of two large animals and at a distance they were the height of a deer. When I put the binoculars on them, they were two very large Coyotes or Wolves. They were not scrawny and very dark furred. We've seen many Coyotes in this plain but none compared to the size of these creatures.

It looks like a coywolf. A mix between a Coyote and a Wolf.

I live in Kitchener too, and last spring of 2013, my son spotted a Coyote running across our street into the environmental area at the back of our house. I think Coyotes have very large ears, and are smaller than Wolves? Creepy!

I live on Roseville Road in Cambridge, Ontario. My farm is 80 acres. I'm near Grand Valley Gold Course. Wolves killed my golden retriever last March. Wolves are here!

I have been around Wolves quite a bit and this looks like a Wolf hybrid. The thing about this being a Wolf hybrid, there had to be a Wolf to make it.
