Cayuga Bald Eagle

My sons were playing in the back yard with their American cousins, Grace, Julia and Clare, and they called me to see a Bald Eagle!!

I saw it take off and it beautifully glided down the Grand River - the distinctive white tail feathers and wing span were solid evidence.

The kids excitedly told me that it had a white head and that it looked right at them.

What a great sighting, and a wonderful experience for those children - I hope it leads to a lifetime of bird-watching!
