Bald Eagle near St Thomas

On Sunday afternoon, December 9th 2012, I was driving from the little community of Frome, Ontario, to St Thomas, along County Road 45.

As I was between Rieger Road and Sunset Road, I spotted a mature Bald Eagle in a tree on the north side of the road.

I was in a hurry, so I only slowed down slightly to see the bird, but the large size and unmistakable white head of this individual confirmed that it was indeed, an adult Bald Eagle.

He (or she) was in a tall tree with a great view of his surroundings, so he was possibly watching for potential prey for his lunch!

The picture here shows clearly the white head and size of the bird, although, this isn't the one I saw, it is identical!

Bald Eagle Sighting
by: Anonymous

I have seen a Bald Eagle flying near the highway 402 between highway 2 and Colonel Talbot Road. Travelling at 100 Km he was flying parallel to the highway in the opposite direction. Was far away, but could clearly make out the white head and tail.

I saw a adult Eagle today when driving in our work truck. It was along the side of Southminister Bourne road. As we drove by it flew away. Then about 15 minutes later we returned to find it in the same spot alongside a crow. I think it may have been eating something. Wish I had a camera with me.

Saw one today April 11, 2013 (male bald eagle) just in a field on Ford Road in St. Thomas He looked annoyed with the rain :) It's not too far away from Sunset, so maybe the same bird! ?
